In order to cope with the transformation and change of the civil engineering and construction industry under the new situation, the School of Architecture held a kick-off meeting for the education and teaching research of the new era of architecture in the conference room on the third floor of the Architecture Museum in the West Courtyard of the South Campus on the afternoon of October 17. Jia Kan, secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Hou Quanhua, dean, Feng Juan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice dean, Bai Hua and Chen Wenliang, vice deans, directors of various departments and institutes, heads of majors and relevant teacher representatives attended the meeting, which was chaired by Bai Hua, vice dean of the School of Architecture.

Jia Kan, secretary of the Party Committee of the college, put forward requirements for the education and teaching reform of architectural majors from three aspects. First, we should improve our position, have a profound understanding from the strategic height of the overall development of the party and the country's education, and adhere to the forward-looking cultivation of architectural talents; second, enhance the systematic nature of the talent training program, and achieve integrated education of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor; third, focus on improving the core skills of talent training through distinctive teaching methods. It is hoped that the revision of the talent training program will promote the high-quality development of the college to a new level.

Dean Hou Quanhua shared his thoughts on education and teaching reform and the school-running philosophy and ideas for talent cultivation in the new era. He hopes to improve the teaching effect and students' practical ability by establishing and improving the talent cultivation program of the college in the context of the new era. The college should take this undergraduate teaching review and evaluation as an opportunity to further strengthen the reform of the school system and the construction of quality culture in education and teaching, and comprehensively improve the quality of education and teaching in the new era.
Dean Hou Quanhua Gave a Report
Vice Dean Bai Hua explained the necessity of the academic system reform for architectural majors, interpreted the work plan for the revision of talent training and made work arrangements: each major is required to complete the first draft of the curriculum system by the end of December; complete the revision of the talent training plan in March 2025, and welcome experts to discuss the results of the undergraduate talent training plan of Chang'an University School of Architecture in May 2025.
